I don’t think they understand that underperforming in this generation will take 2 generations to fix. A steam deck has more utility than a switch 2 and it’s significantly less money to get it. But hey, I’ve always been a day 1 console buyer. I own every modern console. This won’t be any different

Pokemon is already prohibitive. There’s no real anime presence either. When was the last time you saw a kid watching Captain Pikachu! The Mario movie was years ago now, there’s no Zelda content, splatoon content, pikmin… and there’s a real danger that the DK game could be a flop.

Nintendo holds the market for kid friendly content, and Nintendo is built off of nostalgia. The switch 2 has the danger of alienating a generation of kids, and when you do that, you miss the opportunity to sell them on nostalgia in the next generation if this fails.

Their mobile app business is also doing well with success from the Pokemon company. Go, Unite, TCG Pocket. However, I’m an early adopter of a lot of tech. The moment you price out families… the moment someone’s mum can’t go into a store and pick up a console for their kids.. you run into a problem!
