I did the same thing! I usually feel like these kinda games pretend to let you explore and then lock you into a single path so it felt so rewarding to end up with such a weird route. It really felt like I was the time charting my course.

They're always fun to stumble on! I have no idea when people visit mine but I hope people get the same joy from it, even if mine isn't that exciting (though maybe I should change that sometime).

It's really fun for a metroidvania to actually let me explore rather than hide a linear progression behind item based locks (I'm looking at you Metroid dread).

As much as I love my neovim configuration stuffed with tons of language servers and configuration to work with multiple languages, it's definitely not as convenient as just having an IDE purpose built for it. the dedicated IDEs often still have features I don't get that way too.
