3D modeling is fun, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not where I excel and not what I want/wanted to do as a career.

The drop in stop motion films has also saddened me a bit.
Interesting fact; Jurassic Park was supposed to feature stop motion for the dinos! IMO would have been so much cooler than CGI

I’m so sorry you had a similar crushing experience
I was really hoping they would cover 2D animation more, especially since the Princess and the Frog came out, but we basically just did and practiced the 12 principals of animation, designed characters, and went straight to 3D modeling said character

However, as soon as we started doing 3D modeling and animating, I was no longer interested and left the program I was in, and gave up any hopes of doing 2D animation traditionally.

The death of 2D animation actually crushed my soul, and I felt like I completely lost purpose.

For those unaware, I wanted to do 2D animation, specifically TRADITIONAL 2D animation my entire child and teen hood, and even went to Digipen for about a month to learn character design and animation.

After having a wonderful conversation with a fellow vendor, I realized no one is going to make the ideas I have and I want to see in animation; only I can do it.

And I shouldn’t have let the downfall of 2D animation stop me from perusing-

Slowly getting back into formline.

I realize now I was so obsessed with making big and bold pieces that I didn't work on fine tuning the fundamentals, and so I have been spending my freetime doing just that and spending even more time learning and listening to those who have done it much longer.

She did so much for the wolves, especially the Mexican Wolves in the SAFE program, helping to release a few into the wild.

Her efforts to help wolves will never be forgotten.

I am sad to report the wonderful woman I made that wolf and dandelion piece for has passed away… her cancer was sadly too far along.

She will be deeply missed at the sanctuary, especially at the Montana location, but her legacy will live on with all of us.
