Was part of my dad's record collection too. My mum used to work as a receptionist in an optician's in Bristol. Will never forget her coming home one day and excitedly telling us that Hank Marvin had come in to get his glasses adjusted!

Yes I am, moved here in the early 2000s but Fair Go would have been the equivalent. As Paul is from that part of the world he would have got the reference, should have explained that I was on about the early 90s UK

Back then I don't think the general public were as well-versed with consumer rights as they are now, and there was only Watchdog on the tv that highlighted this sort of stuff (iirc)

Back in my younger days I worked for Comet (remember them?) and the amount of importance given to selling extended warranties was crazy. I'm guessing margins were pretty thin on good sold so it was the next best way to make money.
