If only this was the series of books HBO was spending millions turning into a TV series, rather than rehashing 8 movies everyone's already seen with better actors AND funding a deranged bigot's desire to disenfranchise an already victimised section of society...

He's collected from his boring home by a big man who takes him to a remote school for young wizards. This school - presided over by an old, bearded wizard with a bird familiar - is full of teachers who specialise in subject areas like Charms, Herbology, Potions and so on.

I'm very much enjoying this book I'm currently reading. It has a young boy with magical powers he knew nothing about, being taken away from his dull life in suburbia after accidentally creating mayhem by casting spells.

I’ve limited the interactions to my posts to people I follow and people who follow me. If someone can’t be bothered to follow me before commenting, then I’ve no interest in their opinion. It cuts out so much white noise.

I loved Philip K Dick's 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' I've been meaning to read it for decades. I loved it.

Also 'The Memorial' by Christopher Isherwood and 'Childhood's End' by Arthur C Clarke.

It must be. Also, I know I'll fail and have bad days where I look at cat videos for an hour. But that doesn't mean the overall plan is bad. I'm thoroughly enjoying ramping up my book count.
