Barnstable County Sheriff Donna Buckley is cooperating fully and constructively with the state Inspector General's investigation of Massachusetts sheriffs.

The Barnstable County Sheriff's Office runs a Regional Emergency Communications Center that handles 9-1-1 calls and fire/EMS dispatch for 10 Cape Cod communities and 13 fire departments. Looking back at 2025, the numbers show how much we have grown. Stay safe and have a wonderful 2026.

On the first day of Hanukkah, we woke to news of another mass shooting at a Hanukkah event in Australia. Yesterday in Rhode Island two people were killed, at least eight more wounded and countless others traumatized at a shooting at Brown. We can do better.

This week, the first group of incarcerated individuals began a new vocational carpentry course designed and taught by Skilled Purpose at the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office's Bridge Center.
