Friday again already! Just knew a circular walk we like around Tilgate Forest would be productive. Promised the wife we'd find her favourite Toadstool, the Fly Agaric and we lost count of how frequently we did. #fungifriends #fungi #mycology #naturephotography

Another visitor to our newly enlarged wild pond, this a Southern Hawker, laying oodles of eggs in and around the perimeter. I wondered whether I was doing the right thing enlarging it, shouldn't have worried, provide it and nature will find it! @sussexwildlife.bsky.social #dragonflies

The first Willow Emerald Damselfly I've seen in our Horsham garden and a pair of Common Darters very busy in our newly enlarged wild pond. @sussexwildlife.bsky.social #dragonflies #damselflies

I know the first one is Collard Earth Star but the rest were taken just because they looked good. The last one appears to be fungi growing on fungi! @britmycolsoc.org.uk @sussexwildlife.bsky.social #fungus

One of our local foxes has realised she can view all 3 gardens where food will be left out by simply sitting on our shed roof. She can also see the other foxes as they move around on their nightly prowl. Smart girl! #urbanfox #FoxOfTheDay

You're right, we've been lucky in having Kingfishers at the reserve for the last twenty-odd years, always pull in the crowds at this time of the year 😊

This perch at Warnham LNR is well know (and photographed) here in Sussex, can't think why! @sussexwildlife.bsky.social #kingfisher #warnhamlnr #birds

What a beauty! Timing's not the best though, going to effect the meteor sightings quite a bit this year. #SturgeonMoon #fullmoon

I'm probably completely wrong but have spent some time online trying to ID. Think this might be a nymph Stictopleurus punctatonervosus. Handsome devil, whatever! @sussexwildlife.bsky.social

Never would have expected a Golden-ringed Dragonfly to pitch up in our urban garden. Completely the wrong environment for it but I'm not complaining! This a stunning male I think. @sussexwildlife.bsky.social @britishdragonflies.bsky.social

You're right there Sue! The times she's pointed out species that for some reason I've just failed to spot.

Red Bartsia Bee (Melitta tricincta) found wherever there's Bartsia, which is pretty much right across Chesworth Farm. It's mainly concentrated in the SE of the UK with numbers apparently declining! @bumblebeetrust.bsky.social #bartsia #chesworthfarm
