The AI singularity, and the bots killing us. This worry seems really unlikely to me, and I'd welcome a poll of scientists on this one too. We strive to survive and conquer rivals because of eons of evolution that rewarded it. It's unlikely an AI would develop that goal suddenly, without warning.

Mars... Of course you get more clicks for "let's colonize Mars" than "it would be incredibly hard to colonize Mars and not really worth it." We should poll a body of reputable scientists on a bunch of questions of this kind and find that expert opinion is overwhelmingly against most clickbait.

My first post. I haven't gotten into this form of online interaction so much, but willing to give it a try. Just finished my 3 score and 10, so according to one old way of looking at things I'm on borrowed time from now on.
