what do you get when hobble together extreme tech optimism, authoritarianism, theology, and 1930s german political theory? a franken-thiel.

this month i’m focusing on the monsters of ai, frightening demagogues hell-bent on transforming our society into a dystopian horror.

first up is peter thiel.

This print I created was inspired by Joe Nunnink’s AI Bob Ross skits 🤣

Added some fast food / clown references because why not

it’s no accident that ai companies are aggressively targeting our institutions.

this is a partnership between big tech and a govt hell bent on dismantling our democracy. if you use ai anyway, just know that you’re supporting their goals, not your own.
bartfish.bsky.social
it’s no accident that ai toolmen have partnered so closely w/ the current regime.

it’s no accident that ai is targeted at the educated, at knowledge workers and fields that are predominantly liberal.

the dead internet theory is quickly becoming reality and it has an agenda. if you’re an ai video creator, you are complicit. you are amplifying a right wing corporate agenda, not your creativity.

i’ve said this many times in the past, but ai is the perfect weapon for authoritarianism.

they have thousands of followers, views and comments. some are obviously ai, others aren’t. when you read the comments, it’s hard to tell what % are bots and who are humans. no one is calling out these accounts as ai.
bartfish.bsky.social
what do all of these tiktok ‘creators’ have in common? they are all ai accounts entirely dedicated to spreading maga and conservative views.

I just published a piece on OpenAI’s war on healthcare you might enjoy. TLDR: OpenAI doesn’t care about our health, they care about healthcare dollars.

I just published this piece on OpenAI’s war on healthcare. I touch on the hypocrisy of their public statements around health advice vs their very opposite terms of use and service.

I’d love to hear what you think and if you’d be willing to add a quote?

these two power tools of ai images i created, are live on @betterimagesofai.bsky.social

i donated them so anyone can use them for free. if you’re not familiar with better images of ai, their mission is to source ai images that aren’t stereotypical and better represent the discourse around ai.

100% it’s a power tool.

what if the jobs that ai creates, are ones that nobody wants?

what if these jobs are low paying, lack security and involve being exposed to traumatic materials?

this is already happening in countries like kenya, uganda, the philippines, venezeula and india.

Users hate AI. So tech made it mandatory. Even if you don't use it, it pollutes what you read and how systems make decisions. The computer's hallucinated word is final.

And it needs all of your data to do it.

In the age of no consent, UX exists to normalized complete acquiescence to surveillance:
The AI age is the "age of no consent"
"Inevitability" means design decisions are no longer informed by user needs; now they are unilaterally imposed. The users are the ones being designed.

Ethan is a prolific ai slopper. Not sure what he loves more; creating ai slop or writing books about it.

Yeah, I expected he’d ignore me and that’s totally fine. 100% seems like a weird play to alienate your fans. I’ve quoted and recommended his newsletter soooo many times. But yeah, I’m moving on too. Not the vibe or kind of community I’m interested in.

Ed recently blocked me because I tagged him in a relevant post about my artwork and referenced his business idiot piece.

I wasn’t a paid subscriber but was an avid reader of his newsletter and was considering paying for it. I also regularly listened to his podcast.

@jttaplin.bsky.social you might enjoy this. Read your book and it was an inspiration for this print in particular.

how could you make this control feel inevitable? with mountain tons of hype and money. use linkedin to promote pro-ai content and focus all vc investment on ai.

why does it feel like this ai era was all baked up in some technocratic think tank?
