A real shame. One of my favorite and most quotable shows.

This is legitimately the worst author introduction I have ever read. Isaac Asimov writing about Anne McCaffrey.

Spoiler: your gross uncle discovers that women are people too

Years ago this book just about saved my life. I was in such a dark place. I was angry when I finished it; angry that it didn't have an actionable answer to my suffering. But it got inside my brain at a fundamental level. Even now the concept of "this river ... of a thousand voices" helps me so often

Instead of just screaming into the void, it's a good week to read/reread March - Congressman John Lewis' first hand account of the civil rights movement, Dr King, the reality of non-violent resistance (spoiler alert: it was violent AF for protesters), and the legacy of the movement.

The Mysterious Girl (published as Girl of Mystery in BLB) was one of my favorites. My well loved copy from the 80s is barely held together anymore. Big Hannah is the greatest character!

Well this made for some lovely, cozy holiday reading. Inspired by The Goose Girl, it's another charming fairy tale from one of my favorite authors. Side note: I love that my most fave writers seem to all be bird nerds.

Decorating the inside of your fridge, not just with fancy storage and plastic containers, but flowers and picture frames etc. It's truly a sign that influencers are running out of things to influence.

Its artifacts, buildings and roads survived centuries, now under his living human feet. The thoughts come crashing down as he recalls his absolute solitude, evoking the imagery of another ancient civilization and its lasting structures.

Mary Shelley, best known for Frankenstein, also wrote one of the first apocalyptic English language novels. The Last Man is an epic tale set long in the future. At first a scathing criticism of monarchy, then a tragic end of all humanity taken by plague.

Ray Bradbury was a masterful writer. This is my absolute favorite part of The Martian Chronicles. Even without the context of finding their deceased loved ones on the planet, it is a superb mini horror story all on its own,
