Well here I am in the 21st Century,
Have to say it ain't as cool as I hoped it'd be.
No man on the moon, nobody on Mars,
and where the hell is my flying car?

Account focussed on farming, dogs, tractors and Putin's genocidal invasion of Ukraine.
I tend to read them one at a time so don't need to carry the entire library around with me.

It's important that you also shout "that'll show 'em" whilst punching yourself.

The UK is definitely at the sitting in a travel lodge in your pants eating a cold pot noodle stage of the divorce now.

shamelessness is the Republican super power.

though you'd think that purely from a self interest POV, the GOP would realise that he'll be dead soon and there'll be some sort of reckoning, and that anyone speaking out now will have a get out of jail card for future reference.

the problem with trump is not so much his insanity or craven narcissism or whatever it is wrong with him, it's that the entire GOP political establishment is in thrall to him, unable to push back against even his most insane whim.

He's running amok with no congressional oversight

The problem is not so much that the president of the United States is an imbecile who is mentally ill or demented.

The problem is that the GOP establishment almost in its entirety has decided to indulge his most insane whims & would rather shamelessly debase themselves than do their jobs.

I think the point where it all started to go wrong was when Gordon Brown was persuaded to apologise to small minded bigot Gillian Duffy for correctly describing her as a bigoted woman.

The 'legitimate concerns' shtick validates your opponent's bigotry, leaving you to offer the watered down version.

labour didn't win the last election the tories lost it by becoming unelectable

Labour are now doing the same thing, alienating core supporters chasing the shy bigot vote & failing to show leadership & realise the path to get re election is via making people's lives better, not performative cruelty
