The premise of this discussion was “really basic things” people outside of MN should know about organizing for immigrants in their community and for some folks finding your local immigrant rights group and attending a public training is more practical. And the majority of groups are openly unvetted!

It’s unnecessarily intimidating to call it a ”whisper network.” If anyone googles immigrant rights groups or trainings they will find Monarca (in Minneapolis) or their local equivalent. That’s how I got connected to my local neighborhood chat and it was basically open to anyone.

This is speculation but I think it’s notable that with ~3000 agents in Minneapolis the other area DHS is focused on is the sprawling metro of… Portland, ME. Like I just don’t think they have the numbers to terrorize more than one city a a time. Mpls is pretty small!
