i definitely pine for aspects of web 1.0 (see: the comics i made about the frozen 2ks-era forum poster character) but i think we collectively pine for 1.0 as specifically consumers of the web. as far as i know very few creatives were able to make money on that version/era of the internet

i have fairly low interest in the history of disney as a company or a person but what consistently makes me feel crazy wrt how art/craft is perceived is the fact that his artistry was so compelling that—at his behest, sure—it spawned the most powerful mega corporation the human race has ever known

times are so lean (everyone knows this no one needs to hear it from me) and yet. maybe it's just cause i've worked in the industry been there done that, but i just cannot imagine making work that isn't highly true and specific to me when it's for ME and on MY free time and for not a dime lmao.

i'm happy bsky is surviving in its own niche way and wasn't just a momentary flash in the pan. i get a lot of thoughtful comments on here and feel that i have followers who are actually very interested in my art and like to see it specifically. i prefer that to a larger number of disinterested ones.

i need to implement this for october cause im already like 💭 greasy mechanic mars who comes to fix your skylight... yes.... yessss........
we actually came up with another thing i'd love to do, probably for the $20 tier, which is monthly fashion pinups. oh my GOD i want to dress up my little dolls so bad. and i want to see what outfits people like the best. i just like to play it's fucking fun to have Structured Play in this way lol

feel self-conscious posting too much about it on main cause i worry it comes off as insincere native advertising but i genuinely didn't think i would enjoy patreon so much, i held off on having one for years cause it felt like another job i'd have to do but i love having a semi-private space for art
