I remember that article (though I read pretty much all of her writing) bc was living in Nashville at the time and the post-Covenant school shooting fallout/inaction by Lee, Blackburn, et al brought a lot of the utter corruption to light. Hoped the suburban mom outrage would change things but nope.

Impeachment process is an Article I Constitutional right and goes for all civil officers; it bestows the right to check/balance the Executive to the Senate. Under your logic, enacting the 25th Amendment would also be a “coup”.
