This is my adopted home. I’ve been here 11 years, and I’m better for it. The same neighbors being targeted today are the ones who welcomed so many of us with open arms.

Are we the safest city in North Carolina? No. Like anywhere else, we’ve got our share of problems. But let’s be real - there are at least ten other places that deserve way more scrutiny than us. Folks aren’t ready for that conversation (especially the loudest politicians cheering this mess on).
