Totally agree, art at its core is an expression of human feeling, experience, and expression. The real world can’t be sanitised and we need to see how far we’ve come, sometimes leads to empathy too

I mean it was also used pre-Weimar Republic, all of the other home front videos used flags, including the hammer and sickle of the Soviet Union which is pretty up there with horrific regimes

Out of interest what changes would you make? There isn’t any imperial eagle or swastika shown. I get it’s a propaganda image of an aryan family but it’s reflective of the imagery used by Germany at the time.

With all due respect I think the idea of shying away from showing nazi imagery in a historical context is a mistake. It’s a period of history that needs to be remembered, especially when far right movements are on the rise. Max’s video handles the history in a very sensitive way imo
