Nighttime scene on an avenue sidewalk in a large city where there is a large holiday tree stand taking up half the sidewalk; the trees are very expensive, but someone around here will pay that much; across the sidewalk is a row of small businesses including a smoke shop, a locksmith, and a shop which has "Smoke and Beer," according to the bright fluorescent sign; although the trees are expensive, they are still beautiful - very wide and full, and remarkably green under the festive lighting; in the distance, the dark sky is getting cloudy, in preparation for an overnight rain storm; also in the background are high-rise condominium buildings and retirement apartments, which are very safe and convenient.

Elevated, late-afternoon scene on a cloudy day looking out over rush-hour traffic in a large city; hundreds of cars are heading west toward a large, multi-level bridge which, as it touches the land, crosses with a long, elevated subway track that has just come up from the water; these tracks split in several directions at a couple of points, but the one leading straight from our vantage point serves the N and W lines; they also serve the R and 7 lines which take you to different destinations; the days are short now, so the lights are on in the subway cars as their elevated trestle passes over the autumn trees and red taillights of the automobiles below; tall buildings rise up all around the crossing, helping to form part of the new and growing skyline of this part of the city; in the distance however, on the other side of the massive bridge, is a much larger and taller group of skyscraper buildings which make up a small part of the most iconic city skyline in the world.
