I’m concerned by, among other things, the use of the terms “contribution” and “gift” for the $1-5M fee/kickback. Who’s getting the “gift” exactly???

Isn’t there a business model where authors post books online, freely available, as well as in print (read first, buy later)? E.g. themlbook.com
