The Pigeon River in Haywood County, NC. Lots of hard bottom with crevices...hiding places for smallmouth bass. Great spots for wet wading all summer when it's too hot to safely catch and release the trout here in the Blue Ridge. Full disclosure: I prefer brawling with smallmouth anyway! #flyfishing

Often it's helpful to slide the bend of the hook under the keeper on the rod, for instance if the hook point is buried in a bait (as with the Texas rig lure below).
