UNC's underlying metrics have been out of line with their record all season. As the sample size increases, that record is starting to fall in line with those metrics. Soooo... Is the math mathing?

Fred Payne has 19 against Louisville a couple minutes into the second half so can we not act like he's some scrub and that his performance against State is part of the (false) hero of the day narrative?

"Get right game" is such stupid phrasing. It's just reversion to the mean and it just happens naturally.

Also, the expectations that outsiders took from all the talk by Will Wade seem to be different from everyone I talk to. Sports line is losing it's mind but the fans I know are disappointed but fine.

As a statistically, analytically inclined person I might need to tune out of OG for a little while. There is a clear lack of understanding of what probabilities are and how they work and what "sports analytics" is and isn't. Joes and the callers are boiling my blood.

It's jarring how unsophisticated college basketball analysis is compared to the NBA. It's so vibes-y without questioning conventional wisdom. And yes, I'm talking about "the hot hand" and the degree to which defenses can affect 3-point shooting percentages.
