Episode 36 of the Halemaʻumaʻu eruption ended at 4:16 pm HST today, November 9. The eruption lasted just over 5 hours, produced fountains over 1000 feet high and eruption 10-11 cubic yards of lava that covered over half of the crater.

There's a whole lotta lava going on at Kilauea! I've lost count of the number of pool, overflow, and drainback events today! We're still in the precursory stage, the official start of Episode 34 is coming sooner or later, preferably sooner!

This kind of thing would’ve shocked me before 2025. Now it’s standard procedure for U.S. officials to act like idiots abroad. They care little for other countries’ laws, believing that U.S. rights apply to them everywhere.
