Fair. I’d have thought chat gpt would have told me that and when it didn’t thought it would be something else. Can’t trust Ai.

Harsh. She’s got to play the game with Trump and that’s what he wants. It’s worth a bet if it helps her get back into the country and be leader etc

On this question “20. The Government announces an increase to the rate of any band of income tax, national insurance (employer or employee) or VAT.” Would the introduction of a “social care/nhs/ defence levy” of 1% of income count as an income tax?

Why do the Lib Dem’s get five but the Tories only three?

He’s got to suck up to Trump to try and make sure the WC is a success. Trump could easily screw it up by doing Trump things. He didn’t elect Trump. He’s got to do what he’s got to do.

There was a paper recently where they suggested you either pay stamp duty at normal rates when buying a house or pay none and pay a higher council tax going forward (think it was 0.16% of value). So you can’t complain of getting stitched up as you choose.

So hang on. If I earn £70,000 a year and put 10% of my salary into a pension. Not salary sacrifice or another. Will I now pay NI on £5k?

And modelling must show that the overwhelming majority of owners of £2m houses have the income to pay it

I assume you will only be able to defer if you can prove little or no income I.e. a pensioner in house that has gone up in value over last 40 years. Investment banker in a £2m property won’t be able to defer.

But why do we believe this man who has just said this now? Farage had been in the public eye for years - why has it not thought to mention it before? Farage has said plenty bad stuff now so let’s focus on that rather than what someone says he said 40 odd years ago.

Surely her lawyer just asked, do you own any other properties and she said no. Which (I think) is true. The trust point makes it all very complicated - can’t blame her or the lawyers - can’t expect them ask, do you have interests in a trust etc.
