Did your Turkish Van love water?
I had a beloved floofy white girl who adored water. She looked like a Van and loved water.

Progress! I have the top half (18”x18”) done of the small wall hanging I’m making as a gift. The bottom half is a stack of books.
“Book Wyrm” pattern by Quilt By Night Designs.
I plan on another 18” worth of books underneath this piece.
Maybe it will be done in time for Christmas… #quiltsky

I have a bonus day to sew thanks to a snow day ❄️ Both of the grandkids’ parents’ schools are closed! Yay!❄️❄️❄️
I’m working on the FPP Book Wyrm for a cat sitter Christmas gift. She’s ’a girl who loves dragons’. There’s only another hundred plus pieces to put together… #quiltsky

I hope that folks and their furry loved ones had a good #whiskerswednesday
Zara is a constant companion while I sew now and insists on sleeping as close to my face as she can get at night . 🤷‍♀️
Have a good and peaceful evening 😻😊

That blue is lovely!!!
I used some of that same fabric family (On R) I think for a table runner last week 👍

Here’s the forecast map- I’m centered in purple 🫤 and my drive to grandkids of course follows the same path nw to se
🤞Fingers crossed for a ❄️snow❄️ day! I have pencils in the freezer too for extra influence 😉

Your sweet kitty looks just like my sweet girl Zara I. That photo!
Happy whiskers Wednesday!

Only one winter themed table runner left to finish binding!
They’ve been mostly fun to make, but certainly each had a lot of inertia in deciding the fabrics & patterns. Almost worse that a full size quilt in that regard.
I still need to figure out which teacher/support person gets which. #quiltsky

Two more zipper bags! I used up some batik strips left over from a quilt project. I bought a 45 yard bag of 15 colors of bulk coil zipper & pulls. Even though I had to do some ripping out along the way, it has been fun.
I’ll let my daughter decide which set of bags for the young teacher. #sewsky

She does have a very round face and round eyes, but man, she is round everywhere! 20 lbs of CHONK with the densest short coat I have ever seen on a cat! The vet remarks about it.
After a brushing…

Zara says hello 😊

I’m making some quilted holiday thank you gifts for my granddaughter’s preschool teachers and support folks. One is right out of college so instead of a table runner, I have made her two small quilted zip bags (8” & 6.5”) that I hope will be useful as a traveling service provider. #quiltsky #sewsky

I can only imagine how draining it must be…
And how hard it must be to take good care of yourself when you feel so much for those around you.

Zara is my companion while I see again this morning. #caturday has finally arrived and the two of us can spend some real time together today. Zara is thinking ‘YAY- treats and catnip!’
I’m thinking that her love & company is a wonderful blessing 😻
But we’re both missing Pete 🐾

I engaged in some retail therapy on the way home today.
I stopped at the local Mennonite fabric/Bernina store & treated myself to 20 Tilda fat quarters (two 10 packs). I know there is an old fashioned sampler quilt in there somewhere! I’ve wanted these since September. TGIF #quiltsky

Here is one I did horizontal lines with (2nd one using channel locks)

It is #whiskerswednesday and I hope that everyone has a day with some peace and experiences that make you smile. Zara was up early ready for her wet food today. I ordered a stretched canvas print celebrating Pete & I absolutely love it (16x20). It warms my heart every time I see it. 🐾😻🐾❤️🐾 😻🐾

I am thankful that I finally replaced the broken speed control cable on my snowblower last weekend. I just cleared 9” of heavy wet snow from my driveway in CNY. It was “loud” snow yesterday- tap tap tap on the windows as it fell. Unusual for lake effect! It is a tad blue 😊❄️❄️❄️
#snow lovely really 😊

Zara is enjoying a special #caturday treat- a new container of the best local catnip! She is a huge fan. I hope that all of you find some time this weekend to relax, reflect, and find some joy.

Good morning Jean! Your sunrise is beautiful even though it is chilly. I hope that you have a great Saturday!

We ended up with close to 8” of wet snow yesterday. While it is very pretty, I prefer seeing green 🫤
Zara has settled in under my sewing table this morning 😻🐾

I finally finished quilting the Bargello quilt that Tracie H and I have worked in parallel on over the miles. After I trimmed it tonight and threw it over the banister, Zara decided to go lay next to it. 😻
Binding it this week for sure!
Have a great week ahead. #quiltsky #cats

It is #caturday and Zara is snoring under my sewing table- a faithful
Companion these days. I finally cleaned out the garden today before snow was here to stay. I kept looking for Pete 💔🥲 since he always supervised my garden work from his cat yard. I am very sad about losing him… my very good boy🥰🐾

#whiskersWednesday is a fond tribute to three fur family members that are sorely missed… Pete, Sophie, and Turbo- all kittens that were rescued after being abandoned. Lovely sweet babies!
😻😻😻
All three were determined to ‘help’ me quilt too.
May your heart warm with loving memories of kitties 🐾❤️🐾
