Yes, but that is the nuclear option which would have to be used with great caution because if the USA defaulted on its debts and the US $ crashed, everyone would be hurt because the investors holding those US $ bonds would lose their money. The entire global economy would crash.

Canada has a supply management system, which controls price and limits production. The USA heavily subsidizes overproduction and is looking to dump excess production on Canada. If the USA doesn’t want protectionism, it should first cut subsidies to its dairy farmers and let most go bankrupt.

It’s not just indigenous rights Poilievre ignores. He wants to reduce environmental regulations to the levels seen in developing countries where resource extraction industries do catastrophic environmental damage in order to make Canada environmentally “competitive” with developing countries.
