Ottawa has 'seedy Saturdays' where there's a seed exchange. Also local botanical gardens or gardener's associations host seed exchanges

Google tv has them for purchase. I'm bummed too. That was going to be summer viewing. Once the latest season is done, wouldn't be surprised to see them return to Disney+

Composted wood mulch not only doesn't hurt the soil, you'll get a decent crust on it so it can resist being blown/washed away.
