Bias will exist in your dataset… Even statistical measurements like temperature will have bias based on where the thermometer is & what the conditions around it are…

If they are talking about “unintended biases”, they are still acknowledging that bias is present… They aren’t eliminating it…

Also their continued confidence that bias can be removed from a dataset tells me that they don’t understand bias or datasets…

The very method of the collection of the data biases it… Especially if most of not all of it is stolen…

Their insistence that AI is making decisions when it is just executing on the parameters it has been trained on is frustrating. It did what it was “trained” to do. The responsibility for the results is on the trainer not the entity with no volition. If a dev writes bad code, we don’t blame the code.

They think they are on some Asimov shit when really they are so dense that Clippy appears sentient to them.

AI as it currently exists (meaning LLMs with fancy branding) are not autonomous entities… They are not even capable of reason, understanding, morals and arguably context…

This also again uses the language that scapegoats the sparking autocorrect to protect the assholes from legal liability.
