There's no point in your site going "um-ackchyually did you mean 32801-1234 instead of just 32801?". Just accept it automatically, nobody types the extra digits on order forms.

People complaining about huggingface charging for storage are such a perfect example of why working on OSS sucks. They probably have multiple petabytes of storage being abused costing millions of dollars... The demands on open source projects are incredibly unrealistic.

What people think adding comments to JSON looks like:

// Hey! watch out for this, can be undefined :)

What it will actually be
{
"count": 123 // bigint
"cost": 10.99 // @precision=2
"date": "08-2024-12" // @format=MM-YY-dd
}
Neat! Custom date formats! /s

"Genie 2 is capable of remembering parts of the world that are no longer in view and then rendering them accurately when they become observable again."

Can actually play a persistent world game, I am not sure on the use case for simulating the physical world, however.

I benchmarked LLMs ability to warn developers about vulnerabilities in their code, and it ain't pretty... Most of the time they won't say anything, even for basic practices like not using eval() or shell_exec()

I've been working a contract in ed-tech, and had the chance to use multi-modal LLMs to improve student accessibility in math.

Key take away is that Gemini actually performs well on vision tasks for math equations.

I hate Forbes, but they nailed it on this article.

So many organizations suffer from engineers who are more interested in serving the process of their company rather than the product and customers.
