The US is a trickle-up economy, driven almost entirely by $19 trillion a year in consumer spending.
If everyone is unemployed the consumer spending stops, and we just end up with the government printing money and propping everything up.

There is no reason to believe any amount of people will ever pay for AI, enough to make it profitable.
