Yeah Im starting to see that as well. It used to be we would dog pile the misinformation accounts, but now its flipped. I get dog piled back from Vatniks or MAGAs. I dont want to give up, but like you said, its just not as effective anymore.

Yeah I snagged that one from Bricktop too! I knew Russia was densely populated around St. Petersburg and Moscow but didn’t realize just how skewed it was including surrounding areas.

Russia has the power to end this war in minutes. Why not call on them to go home, instead of asking the victim to appease the bully? Seems kinda stupid no?

Can you point to any examples of right wing accounts being treated differently than left wing by the moderation team here? Laura Loomer, Catturd and MTG were claimed to have been banned, but it turns out they never created accounts (confirmed by Laura and MTG at least)

Right wing accounts just aren’t lasting here because BlueSky enforces its TOS unlike Twitter. Someone on Twitter can tell me to slit my own throat and jump off a cliff and support responds “no violation found” despite having threats included in the TOS.

I take it you don’t know the back story behind BlueSky? It was started by Jack Dorsey when he owned Twitter for 2 reasons:
1. Twitters code is not sustainable. It’s a patchwork mess that became harder and harder to change
2. Jack Dorsey stated his goal was that even his own bias wouldn’t show here.

Been so much fun logging in once in a while and seeing the improvements! I remember I got my Gmail I wanted really early, but the account is worthless as people sign it up for spam non stop or use it as a fake email. It’s insane the spam I get on that one account versus my main one.

Yeah good point. Probably added them to get ahead of it, and then those users were so cocky they never bothered to reserve the handles here. I got in early on the invite only testing specifically to get my handle haha.

People forget that NATO itself was very unpopular in Ukraine until 2014. I think the poll I saw from 2013 was that 66% of Ukrainians held an unfavourable view of NATO. Could also be related to the previous pro-Russian governments so take with a grain of salt :)

I just noticed it now that it included all those. I was wondering why I wasn’t following half of them anymore and it’s because the list blocked them 😂

I’m very weary of those lists right now. The big MAGA block list included a ton of parody accounts (partisangirl, libsoftiktok, ianmilescheong, and more) but on BlueSky those accounts are all very clearly not the X users running them.

@rose.bsky.team how has the last week been for advertisers and sponsors? Is BlueSky seeing an increase? Hoping the alternative sites advertisers see BlueSky as a better alternative!

Never used AtProto myself. Might not be much of a help unless you need someone to do more tedious data collection or anything like that.

Yeah a few bad accounts got into some people’s lists. I had 2 scammers that were on starter lists that dm’ed me as soon as I followed. But it’s still really cool you can follow/block/mute entire lists. Makes starting out easier! Good luck with your project! Let me know if you want a hand.

My thoughts are fundraise in BlueSky and converse with the community. I’ll stay on Twitter to shitpost and call out misinformation until it’s so right wing there isn’t a point. Sadly I don’t think we are that far away anymore.

Yeah. The blatant buying of votes is insane. 10 years ago the courts would have slapped him. Now they are so packed with Conservative judges you can’t actually trust rulings will make legal sense anymore. Worried for us in 2025…
