It’s journalistic malpractice to just report what Musk says he’ll do without pointing out his extensive history of grossly missed deadlines. All you’re doing is helping to pump up his stock price and rehabilitate his image.

Tim: go on the offensive. You run one of the largest companies in the world. You have a TON of leverage. Announce price increases that will hit if the tariffs go into effect. Do a media tour explaining how Trump is bad for business. File a lawsuit for Apple being unfairly targeted. Fight.

Maybe a bigger problem is the consultant-driven, poll-obsessed approach that is embodied by even referring to this as a “brand problem” in the first place.

I reject this premise. They shouldn’t change what they stand for. They need as a collective group to grow a backbone. Be forceful, be unapologetic. Push back. Project strength. We need dozens of leaders like this. Not just one guy.

@housedemocrats.bsky.social assuming you gain the majority in the midterms, I don’t want to see a long drawn-out impeachment trial. Take a vote on it in a week. You don’t have to make the case - we get it. Take the vote, then move it to the Senate to also take a swift vote. Then move on.

It’s ludicrous for Dem senators to think they have no power. Off the top of my head they can:
1. Filibuster
2. Not vote with GOP on anything
3. Appear on TV, podcasts, etc
4. Hold rallies and town halls
5. March and protest
6. Speak with our allies
7. Negotiate with unions and other voting blocks

If a Democrat administration did this, there would be non-stop Fox News coverage for 4 years. In contrast, I bet this is largely out of the news cycle within a couple weeks.

Nah this needs to happen. Did you see the polls with the party at its lowest point ever? Dems need leadership that prioritizes the base, has a clear strategy and vision, and goes on the offensive. The internal fight over this needs to happen now, so they’re better prepared for the midterms.
