Did they try to upsell you hard on the executive membership? I legitimately almost walked out - just let me buy the membership I want! I don’t care if you think I’m “making a grave error I will regret every waking moment of my day,“ just sell me the cheap membership!

The graph is showing the total fertility rate (TFR), which is essentially the average number of children per woman. Since it’s a rate (rather than an absolute number of births in a population), the cohort size doesn’t matter for interpreting it since it’s on a “per person” basis. That help?

I know the financial position and career longevity of most pro woman T&F/athletics athletes is not secure enough that they could survive a boycott or work stoppage, but I'd love to see it.

I think about that 2016 story at least once a month. It's why I started donating to ProPublica (and your other work is why I've continued). Thanks for this update.

Apparently the GOP watermelon tent is no more though, per my brother... Perhaps an opening for a Laramie chapter of the DSA next year?

Ughhhh i'm so sorry - this is all so heartbreaking and infuriating. Hope you have a moment to process and regroup, I'm rooting for you.

There were some interesting subgroup and sensitivity analysis results too - give a holler if you need access to the full paper.

Of course, VHA is a unique health system and environment - we'd love to see someone else look at this question in other settings! 3/3

We found it takes up to two years for new attending physician hires to reach the productivity of their existing colleagues. But physicians who did any residency or fellowship training at VHA (internal hires) ramped up productivity faster than those who didn't (external hires). 2/3
