Have you noticed they sometimes make a sound kind of like when you're reeling in a creaky clothesline? Apparently it's a "fake alarm call" to scare away other birds, or can sometimes be a real alarm call? Those wacky guys

Thank you, it means a lot! 🫶

To be fair, it's on gessoed paper, which is much more forgiving than regular watercolour on paper! I very, very much appreciate your kind words though 🙏

Another detail from my painting posted a couple days ago. He's just Glûg!
#glûg #ringsofpower #watercolour #watercolor
A detail of a larger watercolor painting, depicting an orc, Glug, with a twisted face and pointy ears that stick out to the sides, wearing a chain mail hood and various scraps of armour. His mouth is open showing crooked sharp teeth and his reddish looking eyes stare at the viewer. His face is lit on the left side by a torch that is out of frame. Some of the tent which he stands in and the wooden throne he stands behind are visible in the foreground and background.

Figured I may as well share a couple detail images from yesterday's post. I like that you can post bigger, better quality images on this platform.

The image is a detail of a larger watercolour painting of the character Adar from the Rings of Power. He is shown from the shoulders up as a pale scarred elf with long dark hair wearing dark armour and chain mail. He is staring directly at the viewer and smirking slightly. Some of his tent and wooden throne can be seen in the background.

It only took me 6 months but I finally finished this more detailed version of my previous study of Adar from The Rings of Power (S2).

A watercolour painting of a pale scarred elf, Adar, with long dark hair and wearing armour and chainmail, sitting in a shabby tent at a rough hewn wooden table on a haphazardly made throne made of pieces of wood. His sheathed sword is propped against the throne on his right. Lit candles are on the table and a torch is behind him to his right. A tall orc, Glug, stands behind him to his left, wearing random pieces of armour, his face partly lit by the torch.

This is the first collage I've finished in years. I'd always select images based on some restrictive theme and never get far with it. This time I said, just rip out random blobs of textures, and that seemed to work out well enough. Here's to more collage nights @alisonkconsults.bsky.social

This is a view from the surface of Comet 67P.

The busy particles in the foreground are cosmic rays or bits of dust and ice.

The dots moving in the background are stars.

A quick study for a larger painting! This project is so fun. Did you watch The Rings of Power? Thoughts?

A view of a neighbour's garden as part of a trade. I didn't plan for the shade plants to stay so bright but I liked the way it looked so didn't change it.
