I like to think of myself as a very well trained English Badger in a cardigan.

Having a stand and remote for my kindle has been a game changer. Sometimes I only read for 2 min but I can have all the lights off and be cozy under the covers and just fall asleep when I’m ready.

Lots of margin to my days so I have downtime whether I need it or not. Reading before bed. Drinking lots of water. Always having easy meals on hand for the days I can’t mentally or physically cook (frozen pizza or Mac and cheese). Lists/alarms for everything so I don’t have to try and remember.

Tonight I’m grateful to be playing video games and drinking root beer floats with my kids. There were moments in the last decade I didn’t think I’d survive, but here I am.

New Years hold complex feelings. And that’s okay.

Take a deep breath.

Get a good nights sleep.

Even if you're not into tracking your reading, the recommendations alone are worth it. It's free to use, but also $50/year to become a member and help support the work they're doing!

One thing I recommend every reader do is use @thestorygraph.com! It's an independent, black owned website that helps you see what kinds of books you gravitate towards and makes it easy to find your next reads!
