Trump's strategy to flood the zone; selling a positive vision of Europe; countering far-right narratives - we covered a lot of ground last night. Huge thanks to Stephanie Quintao for joining us and giving us the perspective of Democrats Abroad. 🧠💪🌹

Honoured to recognise the work of Sirin Kale of the @theguardian.com in the features category. Sad not to be able to hand the award over in person but the strike cannot be broken 💪

The thing I love about being a judge for the British Journalism awards (besides getting to wear my gold jumpsuit) is that it confirms that there is some really good journalism going on. Really important journalism. That is absolutely essential for democracy. 💪🧠💥

The life of Glenys Kinnock was celebrated last week. She was awarded the legacy prize for social justice at Solidar's silver rose awards and a memorial was held in the European Parliament for family, friends and colleagues. What a privilege it was to attend and hear about how brilliant she was...

Social justice, solidarity, the protection of progressive values have all been on my mind since last week's whirlwind of events, which began w/ a celebration of social impact at Solidar's Silver Rose awards & ended with me interviewing Lord Kinnock at an event for @brusselslabour.bsky.social...

This trip is being paid for by the #FunFund. Every month we stick £20 each into an account, and once a year we have a girly time together. We started the fund way back in 200? and it's taken us all over. We've had Michelin-starred meals, been to spas and theatres. It's even got us to Morocco 🐫

En route to Brussels for a day of events and meetings. 4-hours sleep means it's gonna be a day fuelled by coffee ☕ 😩 Lots and lots of ☕☕☕ However, one advantage of being up and at it before dawn is that I got to enjoy the dark moodiness of my neighbour, Gravensteen

Closing remarks from Helene Fritzon: our voices, our strength, our force can give hope for the world, for the future, for gender equality. It's not just about fairness. Women's equality is good for men too. Children's rights are no less urgent. Fighting for rights is not just moral it's strategic.

Stephen Kinnock accepts the award on behalf of his mum. Glenys loved Europe, he tells us, and was appalled by Brexit. She would also be appalled by the rise of the far right and would have told us that now is the time to unite under shared values.

Glenys Kinnock knew that the fight for human dignity was not born in solitude but in partnership. She was a teacher, politician, fighter for minorities & social justice, a strong voice for human rights. Glenys was a real inclusive and intersectional feminist. She was deeply loved by all who knew her

"I'm convinced the future of man is women", says Schmit. It's a huge honour to share this platform tonight with some incredible women, he says.

He adds: this feeling that we need more justice in society is something we need to work on. We must reconnect with people & their problems & find solutions
