I would suggest that setting up two out of the test window matches ( in particular between TRC and the AIs) in a year where you are hosting the Lions is more than just a bit bonkers!

Really enjoyable as always. Interesting point you and @mazmcm.bsky.social raised on the Fiji heads going down. My (Army) brother said that they found that their Fijian players whilst brilliant did not react well to going behind/reversals and that this needed to be managed in their intra army games.

Il y a beaucoup qui reçoit des bourses pour ces écoles (voir le nombre de gallois dans les écoles anglais en premier et terminale). Cela est aussi en train de changer pour les filles. Les installations et soutien pour le sport dans les écoles privées sont incroyables.

Added to which Scotland are highly unlikely to EVER host an Olympics; personally I thought it was a clever gamble by the FFR and ST.

Mainly as they would not assume that such a tour would be a walk-over for the Wallaroos in the way that I suspect the NZRU did for the Black Ferns.

Unfortunately Rugby Aus won’t be panicked into a rear-guarded action after a disastrous tour to France and England in the way that NZRU was in 2021 leading to the 2022 kitchen-sink throwing which just about avoided a home disaster.

FFS! Just as we all hoped that England winning would be a good argument in favour of funding your women’s team above subsistence level (albeit not by as much as one, see me, might like)!

Can only do that v unions that allow their players to play elsewhere without prior approval (ie not England, France, Ireland, NZ). Maybe not restraint of trade but an action for unfair targeting v unions (eg Scotland, Australia, Italy) which have no restrictions on playing in non-domestic leagues.

Mais la LNR veut regarder si il y a pas de “creative accounting” comme on dit en anglais. Les footballeurs anglais ont essayé de payer moins de IR avec les contrats pour le droit de leur image conclu (de leur part) par les sociétés basés en Isle de Man (un paradis fiscal)…..

Il n’est pas au courant du cas de Tom Brady qui n’a pas était aussi bien payer que ces prestations valait; il a accepté une salaire moins élevée qu’un top QB mais a reçu le droit de commercialiser son image en même temps….

Enjoyed the episode; one small comment is that the Top14 games were postponed so as to not clash with the RWC semi. They would have done the same had France made the final but only one game will need to move for the 3/4 play off.

Bigot must be injured she was a super sub v Ireland; she would also be a great experienced level head at the end of the game so any other reason would be baffling!! I have to say that as an England fan I am not sorry though!

Can’t underestimate the advantage of having a fluent English speaker as captain for interactions with the ref as well IMHO. Suspect Tania Feleu will start in the back row so can provide assistance.

That is my understanding as well. The host broadcaster is World Rugby and everyone gets their images from them.
