Year 2 had a wonderful time last Tuesday when the visited the Verulamium in St Albans. Year 2 are learning all about the Romans in class and on this trip, got to look at Roman coins, artefacts, mosaics and Roman ruins. They also go to dress up!

Last week EYFS had a great time at Forest School. They explored the mud kitchen,
made dens, used binoculars and collected treasures in treasure baskets.

Last week, Year 4 learnt about Mediterranean Europe and how its mild climate helps olives and grapes grow. They enjoyed tasting olives from Italy and Greece, as well as grapes from Italy.

Last week EYFS celebrated National Michael Rosen Day. Rosen Class enjoyed We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, made bear hats, listened to Chocolate Cake while eating cake, recited Welly Boots, and made jelly. The children had a fantastic time!

OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) is going really well across the school. It is so nice to see the children playing with a variety of new and different resources. Thank you Miss Warren and Mr Harper for organising all things OPAL.

A massive thank you to Mrs Crocker and the school Librarians for their efforts getting the library re stocked and set up to be used. The library is open every lunchtime for the children to use.

Last week, our school community joined thousands across the country in celebrating Odd Socks Day as part of #AntiBullyingWeek. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped spread the message that it’s okay to stand out.

Last week, some of our Year 5 children were trained as "Young Leaders" and worked with some of the younger children to lead some PE activities. Well done to all of our Young Leaders, the children really enjoyed the activities you led!

EYFS had a busy first half term settling into school, making new friends and having lots of fun. Outside in the garden, the children have had lots of fun rolling conkers, raking up the leaves and enjoyed their first Forest School session last week with an Autumn walk.

Last half term, Year 1 explored cooking in DT, learning about healthy eating and how fruits and vegetables grow. They made Bean dip and Tzatziki, practising safe cutting skills using the bridge and claw method. Not everyone loved the taste, but they all enjoyed the experience!

Last half term, Y4 showcased their sewing skills in Design and Technology by creating beautiful cushions. They practised running and overcast stitches, designed unique appliqué decorations, and carefully chose materials. The children were so proud of their fantastic creations!

Last week, pupils enjoyed celebrating their Spanish learning with games like “Los colores,” flag-making, and a special lunch treat. Some classes even tried flamenco dancing, creating a vibrant atmosphere full of fun and appreciation for language learning. ¡Gracias a todos!
