Day 37 - finished the basing on the last few myphitic blight haulers, and then did the base metal layer on the foetid bloat drones. In total so far, that’s 1025pts completely done, 420pts that just need varnish, and 540pts to finish painting. #warhammer #40k #nerdlings
A cardboard box with 6 myphitic blight haulers, 3 Deathshroud terminators, a lord of virulence, and typhus, fully painted, based, and varnished. A different cardboard box, with 5 bloat drones and and assorted parts in them. All the models are primed grey, and drybrushed light grey, with silver painted on their metal parts now.

Day 36 - no hobby stuff done, but went to a concert; saw Paul McCartney at Isleta! His voice isn’t what it once was, but he still put on a hell of a show.

Seen some #warhammer #40k YouTube channels start talking about what they want for 11th edition; for me, it’s really just one thing:

I want to be able to field an entire Grot army. Bring the Grot Tank & Grot Mega-Tank back in plastic and a generic Grot character that can level up in narrative.

I want to say thank you to past me for drybrushing all these bloat drones already! I thought I still had to do that. That was really a nice little bonus when I pulled them out of the garage that I had forgotten about. #warhammer #40k #nerdlings

Day 35 - fell asleep on the couch again. Another day behind. I’m so tired. Going back to sleep.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

No - Trump will get all the credit right before the midterms. Are you kidding me?!?

As the people who insist otherwise try to burn the country, it's important to affirm that immigrants, from everywhere, are awesome, and America is better the more immigrants we have. You have to be just empty and vapid and unimaginably small to reject that.

Yeah, those top right ones jumped out at me too.

Day 34 - tufts and cleaning up the base rims. Got the 5 infantry and two of the blight haulers done. Going to do the other 4 blight haulers tomorrow, and then I have exactly a month to get the bloat drones done. #warhammer #40k #nerdlings
Fully painted deathshroud terminator with a tuft on his base, and the base rims painted black.

Day 33 - got some nice weather, and laid down spray varnish on the blight haulers and the terminators. Varnish was already mostly empty, so I had to order another can for the rest of the army. #warhammer #40k #nerdlings
6 fully painted myphitic blight haulers in a cardboard box. They look a little shiny because the varnish is still drying. A lord of contagion, Typhus, and 3 Deathshroud terminators rubber banded onto a paint stick. They are fully painted and look a little moist from just being varnished.

Day 32 - basing mostly done. It was an adventure. The dropper bottle top for the crackle paint exploded off the bottle during my first large base. Took a deep breath, salvaged what I could, and kept going. Ended up mostly ok. Touch ups, varnish, and tufts this weekend.

A placemat with some minis, a large painting handle, and some large orange bases on it. A huge goopy splorch of grey-brown crackle paint covers a couple of the large bases, some of the painting handle, and few places on the painting handle. A picture of my kitchen table work space, with some paint pots, minis not on bases, five infantry bases and six blight hauler bases, with orange under layer and brown crackle paint on top. It crackled nicely. The infantry bases have black spots on them with no paint where the feet are going to go to make the gluing easier. Same picture as the last, but the minis are now on their bases. Side view of one of the blight haulers where a couple of large flecks of contrast paint have fallen off while I was snapping them into their bases. Oh well. I guess I’ll put tufts there or something.

Kind of, yeah - it's a naming convention from computer programming. If I had to name a variable for the number of days in a month, I might call it: numDaysMonth capitalizing each letter that begins a new word.
Makes it easier to read.

Oh dang, I think I'm going to have to try to fit this in, even with my Death Guard Grand Narrative deadline looming. Check out the October #Nerdlings challenge:

Mini of the month competition October - Terrain-ing day

Your mission this month involves no minis at all. Instead you are to create a terrain piece from scratch. Old school style. So cardboard, foam, plastic bottles etc.

Rules on skeet 2 (please read them)

I have robots in 2 varieties: big stompy clowns, and rusty boys.
A knight Abominant, painted like a clown in red and yellow with big poofy red hair and a white face. A knight tyrant painted like a mime, with a felt beret and red chain suspenders. A small force of rusty desert necrons - 2 doom stalkers, 10 warriors, and a Chronomancer. A rusty and verdigris covered shard of the Nightbringer, the old resin one, not the new one.

Thank you so much - I’m really having fun with this army. Wish I hadn’t put myself on such a deadline…

Day 31 - both plagueburst crawlers are done! One month to get five foetid bloat drones (and various other small tasks) done. I’m gonna try to get some basing done tomorrow.
