A huge chunk of them are like "the dozenth film in a decades-long franchise" which feels unfair to compare the OG Avatar to. A lot of them are not individually memorable

Take a look at the top 20 highest grossing films of all time. I think you'd be surprised how many of them are more similar to Avatar in scale of cultural impact than, say, Indiana Jones or something

In all seriousness, if you make reference to "Jake Sully" in conversation, there's a great chance someone under like 50 is gonna know it's an Avatar reference. Not sure why people continue to insist these movies have no impact. And I have no dog in this race, haven't seen any of em lol
