Joann's fabric stores are closing. My 98 year old mother, an avid sewer all her life, picks out some fabric for recovering her patio furniture. Probably last time she'll shop in a store she's patronized for decades. 😔

The usually elusive wrentit. I hear them on the back slope but they're quick and hard to spot. This one is apparently looking for bugs or possibly confused by the reflection in the plexiglass. An oriole flew in and out of frame quickly sensing I was there.

The sounds of spring ❤️. Nothing to see as the orioles are tucked away in the palm but the male was sure singing up a storm along with all the other birds in the neighborhood.

Carson caught our resident male oriole at the feeder this morning. Haven't seen a female yet. Once breeding season is in full swing we'll get better video/photos.

So little rain this season but my young buckbrush (Ceanothus cuneatus) managed to bloom. I hope the tiny native bees can use it.
