The argument against this is that how can reform rely on MPs who formed part of a Tory government that was roundly loathed and rejected by the electorate be genuinely considered as change. Idk. But I feel there is a large space for Tories to occupy and provide space between them and last Tory gov.

Sad that she is no longer our MP after change of boundaries. She remains an excellent MP in my view able to communicate effectively on both local and national/global issues.

My feeling is that the core motivations of this is not to critique or undermine the government but to genuinely promote and normalise a racist ideology.

Also any party that brings back stanchions.

I felt the questions posed were fair, and for the most part Zach's responses were good. I'd say it's not a case of memorising the numbers, but showing you are aware of and understand them. As time goes on Zach will get a much tougher time with other interviewers so hope he learns.

I genuinely think if the conservatives were able to present themselves as the "same old tories" prior to 2023ish then they would very likely win. I am not certain this is how they are seen currently by the electorate, and it not, the bar they need to clear (or crawl below) to get that back.

More worrying is how little this story is being covered in general.

Understandable concerns, especially if we leave the EHCR, and if the judiciary does become more politiscied. However, also worth remembering that juries do not play a role in the majority of criminal cases, and no role in family courts who make massive decisions

To be fair, the reduction in use of juries is part of other measures including additional funding in some areas. Granted, it seems insufficient when looking at the size of the issue.

I did a degree in history. In no version of reality am I a historian.

Agree there is much to rail against in terms of what Labour are doing and the way they are doing it. They are not the same as reform, and do themselves and the country no favours aping their approaches.

Very interesting. Agree with comments around timing, but I can see this building momentum with support from lib Dems and greens.
