If someone makes a soap opera about Elon Musk and other tech billionaires it’ll be called “The Old and the Rizzless”

When I was younger Icing someone was hiding Smirnoff Ices around for my roommates to find and they would take a knee and down them.
Now it’s calling immigration on people just trying to live their lives.

Look at Rand Paul out here making literary references that conservatives, who definitely read books, will understand.

We will never see the #epsteinfiles in any meaningful way. If anything ,it will be tailored to benefit whoever puts out the story. IMO, the truth is that the government at best turned a blind eye, at worst used child sex trafficking for political machinations.

If we can all acknowledge that we’re all having some kind of experience, we can leave the what’s and the who’s to the fascists.

Why isn’t anyone talking about the bill to eliminate section 230 of the communications act?

Freedom is priceless, I would agree. But elon musk just bought ours for $250 million.

Senate confirmation hearings be like:
“Do you commit to not saying or doing the things that you’ve done in the past to undermine this position and the agency as a whole?”, “No?, well can you at least say that right here, for this purpose?”, “No, again!?… ok then, that’s gonna be a yes from me.”

You don’t have to say or do anything outwardly racist for us to know you are indeed racist. The fact you believe the worst about people who are different from you reveals your bigotry.

Maga watching @saturdaynightlive.bsky.social losing their minds over a skit saying “nobody even watches SNL anymore.” Like, do y’all even hear yourselves?

I’ve seen some people leaving maga, but they’re like “we were betrayed by this one guy”, instead of “maybe I need to reevaluate my entire belief system to recognize how I was manipulated into supporting fascism!?!”.

So if I were to announce an intention to commit assault on some kids and then proceeded to do so, would people say “Can’t say I completely like the outcome, but at least he did what he said he would.” ?

Some people visit Auschwitz to remember the horrors, some visit to get ideas for their next project.

This is an important concept: Brandolini’s Law.
The examples given on the wiki page demonstrate the absurdity of trying to directly counter disinformation case by case. We simply do not have the time. That’s why it’s so important to understand beliefs and develop robust critical thinking skills.

I’m waiting for the public discourse to acknowledge “identity protective cognition”, which is as it sounds. This is what allows for the belief that anyone who I don’t identify with is not credible and whatever they say is a lie.

There are at least two guys I’m pretty sure stopped hitting me up to hang out after I spoke negatively of the Joe Rogan show. Well before this election cycle. It could be because I’m obnoxious sometimes, but I was like that before I criticized the JRE, and it wasn’t a dealbreaker.

Conservatives be like: “we must ban those books acknowledging the experience of the queer community because they’re brainwashing the children!”,
This is said while they cling to their bible and worn copy of the turner diaries.

We supposedly live in a dominantly Christian society, but I don’t recall reading anything in the bible that says “thou shalt not kill, unless sufficient diffusion of responsibility is achieved.”

I’ve seen these stats, but the ramifications are disturbing considering our modern political climate requires nuanced understanding of the issues to make informed decisions. From these stats, that level of comprehension is beyond over half the population.

This is why we need a mote robust education system:
When I first heard the word “xenophobia” I thought it meant being afraid of the xenomorph creature in the movie Aliens.

It’s frightening when you understand that the beliefs most people have are actually delusions. Humans have a tendency to pick whatever feels right to avoid self reflection and existential dread. This psychological feature is called “the need for cognitive closure”.

I wish I could have met Carl Sagan. What an inspirational person. His fascination and passion for knowledge is something I wish were shared by more people. What a wonderful contribution to humanity he was.

It takes one sentence to spread disinformation, and on average twenty more to correct it. There isn’t enough time in the world to do this with everything, so we must fortify ourselves with critical thinking skills and a nuanced understanding of beliefs
