The Tumboro market was on edge; radically different from Remy’s last visit. There’s a hush that settles in place under an authoritarian thumb. A hush that makes the drone of #adverts too loud, too sharp, making everything more visibly hostile, with Pratt boys and Angels at every checkpoint.

The case opened with a soft hiss, revealing an intricately folded black body suit. Koan lifted the suit out; beneath were the gloves, boots, and visored hood.
The hydrosuit’s material had a slight #elastic give to it, but the tubing was sturdy carbo-weave that looped and braided throughout.

Koan stood, naked and cold, as the commander prowled around, loudly enjoying a ripe nerrine. Juice and bits of #pulp leaked down his chin and neck; the pleasant scent in stark contrast with Koan’s revulsion for the murderous dictator.

Amer was fast. She prided herself on her incredible speed. Matthias was never a match for her.
But in this moment, for the first time in her life, Amer was terrified by another’s speed.
