For a furthering of this little rabbit hole the word “wicked” was originally coined for witches whilst the word “wick” is much older. This made me wonder if there was any conscious relation, as at the time it would have been synonymous by its incubators with “to be burned.”

2/3) Do words like playing hard to get until they are begotten?
Do some of them write letters just to find out that they’ve dropped ‘em?

Do words hold all the aces then before they’re to be sentenced?
Perhaps they’re trading places and my eyes were just for reference.
