My field is analysis & evaluation OF the other fields. Even w/ tons of positive progress, I’d never just “expect” that in 42 years.
1. Too damn many years; shift is VERY recent. My own diag was 2019.
2. Depends a lot where someone is.
But it’s just a bad and wrong look to say doctors don’t care.

I’m a bioethicist and I just wanna say this isn’t exactly true or fair. It’s hard to shift academic bodies of work, but esp lately many are definitely trying. NPR has had SOOOOOO much very heartening autism coverage lately.
