Helping teach kids life skills. I volunteer at some schools and Girl Scouts and it feels really good to teach how to use a knife, or safely start a fire, use a power tool and so forth.

I had 7 months out of work last year as well, and I was so frustrated when I’d make it to a final round and not get an offer until I learned that there were literally a thousand applicants and even getting an interview put me in 99.5th percentile. A balm to the ego, but I’d rather have a job!

So there’s an underground economy of PTA moms who have side hustles doing this kind of stuff for schools, clubs, etc at a local level. Contact your closest elementary school PTA and ask where they get their shirts and you’re probably set.
