Crazy turnout for the Mediac #booklaunch party yesterday! Delightful (& unsettling) readings from satirical food review maverick @nershwood.bsky.social and fantasy phenom Thomas (T.M.) May.

Thanks to everyone for getting this @anxietypress.bsky.social joint out into the ether.

No luck breaking top 10 in the contemporary fiction category, but Mediac has taken its rightful place *above* Kazuo Ishiguro and Krasznahorkai on the coveted Kindle Absurdism charts.

'Bout dang time.

Feels pretty breezy up here.

Just shy of the top 10 new releases in its category.
Let's get this thing to the top-a-da charts, eh?

A few of the MEDIACs in my upcoming collection from @anxietypress.bsky.social:

- A Brutalist architect’s most dedicated fan
- An ad-man desperate for approval
- A horror writer who just lost his muse
- A photographer who shoots more than he can handle
- A very, very talented young painter

Keep your eyes open, folks--a new book of short stories titled MEDIAC is trying to sneak onto your bookshelf and e-reader, and you're the only one who can stop it. Raise awareness to prevent unwanted intrusions of well-curated catalogues around the world.

Some images just floor you, speaking words across time and space you never thought you'd hear.

Today, more #architecture:

The impossible-to-conceptualize Dimetrodon, a structure emblematic of the Vermont Design/Build movement of the late 60s/early 70s, influenced by the recently deceased David Sellers.

Yeah, this is all the same building. Images via the Fleming Museum.

Ah yes, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, my favorite children's novel. I had it shelved between 'goodnight moon' and 'boom chicka boom boom,' but recently moved it closer to 'are you my mother' due to its more mature themes.

All hail the New Yorker copyeditors, who sit on high in ethereal realmes, raining down such arcana from planes beyond our own: platonically perfect spellings of word-essences truer than our minds can comprehend. May we someday learn these things. May we someday write: "Web site".

In cycle 6 of America’s Next Top Model ('06), one contestant, Joanie, opts to have four teeth removed. That was all I could think about reading the new translation of Moshtari Hilal's "Ugliness", releasing this Feb.

Finished the Ring trilogy this weekend--it didn't disappoint.

1. Ring: Spooky, fun, a bit too much 'deduction' for its own good
2. Spiral: Spookier, funner, maybe my fav of the three
3. Loop: What? fun, What? again, What? one more time, fun, but What?

6/10 would recommend, and all hail Chip Kidd.
