The thing I find most peculiar and intriguing about this unfiltered dementia is the all-caps, in-quotes "TRUMP" choice. It moves from self-referential to so many possibilities: a monolith, a strawman, an abstract, an omnipresent AI, a codename? Purely as text, these rants are mesmerising

Never seen a man fire his own hand puppet before. Fare thee well, Smithers, we hardly knew ye.

Unsurprisingly, the misshapen bag of double cream, seagull droppings and roiling hatred is incapable of imitating human qualities like decency.

In fairness, Badenoch is carrying on the proud Tory tradition of trying to make political hay out of shameless mendacity. It feels cruel to also hold her obvious lack of talent against her here.

Reform wholeheartedly abandoning the "outfox our opponents, show intellectual and oratory agility" strategy in one fell swoop.

Which begs the question of what the Venn diagram of this target group and people who never attended university looks like.

A team of mental health professionals did in fact journey into Cirith Ungol after the meeting for a wellness check, but have not been heard from since.

Well that endorsement is comfortably the most damning thing, in a day full of Mahmood's vision being rightly raked over the coals, that's been said about it. If you look down at the people shoulder to shoulder with you and spot the unabashed fascists in rank, you've lost the plot completely.

Hey now, some people are very into retro and vintage, which 720p almost certainly is in this day and age. And at the rate their extortionate prices are driving people to piracy, we may even get Limewire and Pirate Bay back at some point.

Quite apart from the cruelty, cynicism and abandonment of any moral centre, the logical fallacy of this position is baffling. Continuously courting the support of what is still a minority vote when they can and will go for a full-fat version of politics by xenophobia isn't even strategically sound

Not for the first time this week I am struck by how timely the release of Nuremberg is.

Nathan Mackinnon, somewhere: "lentil pasta's not so funny now, huh?"

This smacks of the arrogance underlying policies like winter fuel, pip cuts, etc., it relies on the assumption that progressives have nowhere to go and so the fash vote can be courted with impunity. With viable alternatives now, ironically this will be, at best, a "1 in, 2 out" policy...in votes.

/2 In the hands of a lesser storyteller, the closing sequence ends at the doorway of the house with the same brutality. Instead we get an extended Naked Gun pov sequence that gives us a gratifying, disturbing and jarringly hilarious ending. Hallmarks of a fascinating, profoundly creative writer.

A lot of small, specific choices and details set this apart for me. I often wonder during a horror film, how does the world this event is moving through react to it? We get a simultaneously really funny and unsettling answer to it with the manic charge across a daylit town midway through the film /1

(+) oversight, this multibillionaire parasite is pumping money into increasing the appeal of gambling, broadcasting it to audiences of all ages. Playing victim a couple of years after paying himself a £50m dividend and threatening staff's livelihood to influence policy should have been challenged.
