Someone mentioned the other day that I used to share how much Stan loved his daycare companions, and it brought back such great memories but I’m sick and was slow to respond and now I can’t find who said it. Stan went to day care for mostly “small old man dogs” and it was so great.

Not sure we’ll get the living room ready in time to do the tree, but the Christmas village is up in the family room, which other than some clutter is fully functional room number 6!! Also this first time home owner hung Christmas lights outdoors!

Obligatory new bike day photo. First new bike in 10 years. Fuji warranty replaced my Cross 1.7 frame from 2016 for metal fatigue with their top aluminum cx/gravel/adventure frame, the Jari 1.1. All my existing components except new front derailed. Fast comfortable and quiet

Bike fully retired, successful warranty claim for the metal fatigue. Being sent a new Fuji Jari 1.1 frame. It’ll still have my components but it’ll feel like a brand new bike :)

Threw a retirement party for my bike. crack in the frame made it through 67 miles on Saturday for Seacoast Century - Metric. 9 years on same bike only new wheels, and a few new saddles & pedals. Depending on cost I’ll try to have her welded & retired to the trainer. What perfect day.

I shared some stuff over on fb because it’s better suited to my rambling length when I’m emotional about something but the world was a better place because of Brian Wilson, even if you didn’t like his music. He made the Beatles better via competition, and changed how musicians share pain in lyrics.

Every year I do garden / yard work for mom for a combination Mother’s Day / birthday gift. This year new steps so she doesn’t have to navigate the steep side one driveway hill. I get all the way done and the last paver cracks during leveling lol

Last year wasn’t a very “up” year for cycling for me. When the season started Id just finished my 3rd new job in 20 months and my mind had to be elsewhere. This year, things are stable at work (promotion, planned travel to India!) and watching the race makes me feel like I could ride through a wall.

There’s a dog named Dusty who walks the Charles River path every day, carrying a stick. At the end of the walk he drops his stick and they get piled up. Some are tiny some are small tree trunks, every spring this is what the pile looks like

Today is Cal’s 3rd gotcha day with me. He played at daycare with his friends, had a double cheeseburger and is now in his favorite spot (in a nest on the couch)

If no one had died, this would have been the ideal B roll for nationwide DCCC ads as trump sinks the economy with tariffs and grocery prices skyrocket with all the farm workers deported
