Here is my hot tip for the day (that everyone has probably already figured out):
go and type 'game dev starter pack' into the search bar, and then follow ALL the game devs :)

I just got to see the ACMI Gameworlds exhibit. Very good. Highly recommend if you are down for MIGW/GCAP that you try to go and see it.

Oh good. This flight has WiFi. I was worried I might be spared from The Horrors for an hour.

"Despite clear Covid-era evidence that GDC could be digitally accessible, and there being no reason but [organizer] Informa’s bottom line for the event being so expensive, GDC remains offline-only and the ticket prices obscene," - one of my quotes in this article

Even a rebrand may not be able to save America’s most storied gaming event
In this week’s newsletter: since 1988 the Game Developers Conference has been a core part of the gaming calendar – but exorbitant costs and Trumpism put that at risk

as an indie, i've gotta say: you're pretty much beholden to what people with very old computers on steam, and the latest nintendo hardware, can run. because that's where any chance of earning any money is at your level. luckily, those are usually pretty much in sync

me: opens Zork walkthrough; creates trivially simple script that solves the game.

also me: I have created AGI!

the first 17 times: I am going to try an (anything but stealth archer) build! ... ends up playing as stealth archer...

18th time: but maybe this time....

hehe, tempting, but I don't think I play WoW these days for the fun so much as a retreat into the familiar. Just a way to disengage my brain, walking the same paths I have walked a hundred times :)
After I grow weary of WoW, then I will be ready for something new (like my 18th Skyrim playthrough)

hmm... I haven't started a new WoW alt in a few years... maybe it is time again...

if steam released an officially supported desktop version of steamOS, now would be the perfect time to get a shitload of people to install it. Those of us who really just use the PC for gaming and are stuck on win 10 for instance 😅

It would be really helpful to get an indication from any devs with key news (game announcement, surprise release, or a first demo launch) that would be aligned to a DECEMBER timeframe.

If you can pls DM me, that would be very helpful! TY!
