That Diddy Kong Racing issue was the first issue I bought - in the run up to Christmas, before I even got my N64.

In my young mind I thought “if I buy this magazine, then my parents will HAVE to get me an N64”.

Maybe it worked? Who knows

(I then bought Diddy Kong Racing with my Christmas money 🙂)
N64 Magazine knew how to do Christmas covers. I demand that more mags sprinkle snow on their logos at this time of year!!!

This back cover ad for Rainbow Islands is fantastic. Who could resist this? One of the greatest platformers of all-time.

This is one of my occasional "Late to the game but isn't it great!" posts, but I've recently started Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and... I'm late to the game but isn't it great!

It's just the right amount of "open-world" for me and the vibes are pure Indy. Superb gaming escapism.

I bought the Taito Alpha at launch, and I've had so much fun with it. This is an incredible discount.
UK fans! Argos have some cracking deals on Evercade hardware at the mo.

Get a very nice £69 off all three Evercade Alphas, including the new TAITO model, putting them down to just £160.99, and a tasty £30 off Evercade VS-R with NEOGEO Arcade 1 thrown in, putting it down to £69.99.

Go go go!

I did my 75th Parkrun this weekend, and - lucky timing with a trip to Sweden - I was able to do it in the snow in Stockholm! 🇸🇪❄️

Rediscovered my Samsung Galaxy S2. Ah these were simpler times! I definitely prefer this size, my next smartphone is going to be less of a brick.

I hope no one forgets that the richest man in the world, who had gratuitously accused a rescuer of being a pedophile during the Tham Luang cave rescue, revealed during a spat with the POTUS in June that he knew—and had said nothing until then.

Time for accountability 🙏

Earlier this year I turned 50, and my good friend Andy (who is an incredible artist as well as a champion gaming buddy) crafted this stunning piece of art for my birthday. I absolutely love it. @andrewfoster.bsky.social

I'd happily go for another cube-shaped console but where's the carry handle?
Steam Frame, Steam Controller, Steam Machine announcement is expected soon, here's a first look!

Well this is everything I wanted it to be! The screen, the sound, the joystick, the buttons, the UI... all absolutely perfect. Of course the first game I had to try on it was Bubble Bobble! Excellent bit of kit from @evercade.co.uk

Our Deluxe Edition of Tunic: Design Works comes in a lush slipcase designed by the artist Ma-ko who adorned Tunic's in-game manual, and a presentation box that's coloured like the game's verdant environments🌳

The LEGO Nintendo Game Boy is easily one of my all-time favourite builds, it's such a clever design. All the buttons and switches feel perfect in use, and even the manual is superb. Greedy me would have liked one more cartridge (Tetris) but I can absolutely recommend this one.

An update just to say: Mario & Yoshi is so addictive, how have I never played this before? OK so it's not as legendary as Tetris but it's certainly an enjoyable alternative.
Picked up a couple of GB gems from Cex. Parasol Stars is a game I never got round to playing when I had an Amiga.

Introduced my young son to the film Wall-E this evening. He loved it, so I've ordered a Lego set for his forthcoming birthday and oh whoops I've ordered one for myself too
